Audiology Across Borders – intensive programme

Eligibility

Final year Audiology students are invited to join this DMU Global Online Learning opportunity. You must register in advance as places in some sessions are limited.

About

The department of Audiology of the Artevelde University of Applied Sciences in Ghent (Belgium) has more than 20 years of experience in organizing an international exchange week on innovative audiology topics.

Final year DMU students are invite to join Artvelde’s new COIL project (Collaborative Online International Learning) which is being delivered with partner universities in UK, Sweden and South Africa.

This COIL project involves cross-border collaboration and interaction with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Both audiological and non-audiological topics will be covered and discussed.

This opportunity is free and Audiology students from all over the world will be joining this event.

Event Details

Students can register for a day, a part of a day, several days or the full program.

  • Day 1 (Monday March 29): Topics will include good clinical practice, Community Service Learning (CSL) in Capetown and debate between students online.
  • Day 3 (Wednesday March 31): Topics will include the importance of listening with two ears, binaural hearing and unilateral hearing loss and Vestibulometry in children.
  • Day 4 (Thursday April 1): Topics will include artificial intelligence in Audiology and 3D printing techniques in audiology. 
  • Day 5 (Friday April 2): There will be an international Audiology quiz, evaluation of the programme and farewell to participants.
