This trip to Patras, Greece gives DMU Engineering students the opportunity to be involved in the international Summer School, organised by the Hellenic Open University (HOU) at their Patras campus, between Monday 24 and Friday 29 July 2023. HOU have successfully organised this international event since 2015, with participation of undergraduate and postgraduate students from Europe, the Middle-East and Far-East.
The summer school activities, spread over 5 days, will enable you to benefit from generic presentations, site visits and specific learning activities on energy and sustainable environmental technologies. This is relevant to students across the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development, particularly those involved in Sustainability and Energy engineering programmes (e.g. ENGT5268).
The structure of daily activities will include a blend of learning and cultural activities planned by HOU, along with the wider experience of visiting some of the famous Greek tourist sites. Over the summer school, you will be engaging in activities with students from different institutes, which will offer you a lifetime memorable experience, as well as networking opportunities with students from other institutes attending this summer school.
At the end of the summer school you’ll receive a certificate of attendance, which will help you to boost your CV and CPD portfolio.
Participating in a DMU Global opportunity can help you develop knowledge, skills and competencies that enhance your studies. The objectives of this trip to Greece are to:
