About
Trip description
Students on this DMU Global experience led by staff from Visual Arts programme at DMU, will visit the Venice Biennale 2022, the 59th International Art Exhibition which is running from 23 April to 27 November 2022. The festival is returning after a 2-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The purpose of trip and core activity is to visit as many exhibitions which form the Biennale as possible. The Biennale is comprised of three parts – the main central exhibitions staged in the Giardini and Arsenale; the national pavilions organised by the 29 participating countries and the independent / fringe events which are staged simultaneously.
The Biennale is a truly international experience, as it includes work displayed in national pavilions in which works from artist nationals from participating countries. This trip will introduce Photography and Fine Art students to a wide range of international contemporary art practice.
The estimated total cost for flights and accommodation for this trip to Venice is £450. Students will be expected to pay £300, as the £150 DMU Global bursary will be deducted from the total.
