About

In cooperation with our partner, Pagoda Projects, DMU Global will be offering twenty online events throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. All events are employability focused and aim to give students an insight into topics related to the international working world.

This workshop will focus on distinguishing personal development from professional development and how they impact each other. Two distinguished guests will share their experiences of having to develop certain skills throughout their careers.

Personal Development is especially important as these skills and habits can be applied to most careers, and can positively impact your quality of life more generally. This session will include a welcome & introduction, followed by a panel discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a better understanding of the term ‘personal development’ and the skills that will help you to excel in your career and life.

Speakers:

Philip Chang – Lecturer at National Taiwan University & Strategist

Philip Chang is Lecturer at National Taiwan University and is growing in business operations and market development. He offers analytical thinking, problem solving, cross-cultural communication, an ability to work across business units, and project management.

His past projects dealt with understanding numbers and the stories they tell, associated risks and opportunities: Strategic Finance. Deal advisory — M&A services including valuation, due diligence, as well as compliance. Strategic Communications. He also has high-level experience for global corporations including GE Capital, HSBC, MF Global, executives, and talent. Engineering Management. He is now at a cooperative research center that serves as an internal consulting group on smart manufacturing issues for the semiconductor industry.

Yvonne Chen – Co-Founder of YC Fintech More Than Fintech

Yvonne has over 20 years of experience in international wireless &telecommunications industry and corporate investments. Yvonne and her partners founded Ceres Capital in late 2018 as a financial advisory and investment representative firm to reshape the value and engagement of investments in 5G, AI medical, AI manufacturing and new material/alternative energy.
