Orientation

As soon as you arrive to your destination, it is very important that you explore the area around your accommodation and the main location for your opportunity. The sooner you become aware of your surroundings the more confident you will feel on your #DMUglobal experience.

Accommodation location

Make sure that you write your accommodation address, location and phone number on your #DMUglobal Travel Card and carry it with you at all times. You might also pick up a business card from the reception to show to a taxi driver or a local if you need directions.

It is a good idea to go on a short walk in daylight hours on the first day to remember key landmarks, so that it is easier to locate your accommodation later.

Navigation

Pick up a free city map at your accommodation reception or at the Tourist Information point for useful tips about what to see and where to go. This will also help you navigate around the city if you cannot access maps on your phone.

Note that the maps on your phone will track your location even if your data and WiFi are off, so it is worth locating the area while you have internet connection.

Check whether you have an app, such as Citymapper, or a map with the information on the transport available in your area. It is worth asking at the hotel reception about recommended transport to get home late at night, such as night buses, trams and reliable taxi companies that speak English.
