Johannes Gutenberg University Main (JGU) is a public research university located in Mainz, Germany that was founded in 1477. With around 30,500 students from over 120 nations, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) is one of the largest and most diverse universities in Germany. JGU provides a broad range of course offerings for exchange students in both German and English.
JGU is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Germany. Internationalization is at the heart of the University strategy. JGU prepares its students for the international workplace by offering more than 650 courses held in languages other than German and numerous foreign language courses.
Programmes of study
DMU’s exchange agreement with JGU allows students enrolled on the following programmes to study abroad: Law LLB.
Modules will be available in English and further information about the study options can be found here. Exchange students will be required to follow a full programme of study for the academic year based at JGU.

Introductory events are usually held in the week before lectures start and will help students familiarise themselves with university and campus life. All students at JGU can participate in the general university sports program (AHS). The sports program includes the German university sports competitions, recreational sports and university-wide sports days. Other sporting activities are offered by the Student Sports Committee.
