All undergraduate students from the faculty of Business & Law are eligible to participate on this opportunity. There is a maximum of 20 places available, with a minimum of 15 participants required for this opportunity to take place. Students are recommended to check the eligibility criteria before applying.

Trip description

When it comes to searching for a graduate job it is vital for students to have an understanding of the skills they possess and be able to evidence, demonstrate and articulate those skills within recruitment processes. This trip gives students the chance to test those skills in real world scenarios, working alongside employers and guidance from trip leads to build genuine confidence.

This trip will enable the students to find their strengths and then be able to demonstrate those through a variety of engaging tasks and activities hosted by the careers team and employers.

During the trip, students will work directly with two major employers: Tanium and Enterprise Mobility. The ay with Tanium starts with an introduction to the business before heading out on a city wide navigation challenge. Working in teams, students will need to be creative, organisation and be able to complete various tasks set for the day. Some of which will include finding Parisian landmarks and score points along the way.

With Enterprise Mobility, the main focus will be on graduate recruitment insights, company overview and their famous Car Club Challenge. This is where students will collaborate to launch a transport strategy in a new city.

During the trip, we will also host a group networking dinner which will be joined by DMU alumni currently living and working in Paris, giving students a chance to build real professional connections. It’s designed to be a balance of hard work and fun, with plenty of free time to explore Paris independently. By the end of the trip, students will come away with clear, practical examples of their skills that they can draw on in future job applications.

To help students get their bearings, one of the main itinerary days features an interactive city wide navigation challenge. Working in teams, students will navigate across Paris to visit a mix of iconic landmarks and hidden spots, getting comfortable with the transport system and discovering areas they might want to return to later.

There will be a day which is kept open for independence exploration, allowing students to tailor their time around their own personal interests. While we don’t run formal guided sightseeing tours, cultural discovery is embedded into the entire week. As mentioned before, students can visit sites, landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre etc, or simply explore historic areas like the Champs-Elysees at their own pace.
