The University of Alicante is a public university located in Alicante, Spain that was established in 1979. There are approximately 33,000 students enrolled at the University, 2,000 of which are international and exchange students. Students can choose from around 200 courses that are fully taught in English.


University of Alicante is one of Spain’s most modern and innovative universities based in a beautiful campus by the Mediterranean. The campus is ranked among the best in Europe: an area of about one million square metres, sustainable and less than 15 minutes to the city centre and the beaches.


Programmes of study

DMU’s exchange agreement with the University of Alicante allows students enrolled on the following programmes to study abroad:

  • Business & Law – Business Administration and Management, Business Management, Marketing and Advertising and International Marketing and Business with Spanish.
  • Health and Life Sciences – Education Studies
  • Technology, Arts and Culture – English Literature

Modules will be available in English and further information about the study options can be found here. Exchange students will be required to follow a full programme of study for the academic year based at University of Alicante.


Travel & accommodation

Visas & insurance

  • Visas – To take part in this exchange you are responsible for ensuring that you meet Spanish immigration requirements.
  • Insurance – All students are recommended to purchase travel insurance for the duration of their time in Europe to cover personal possessions and healthcare. UK and EU nationals can apply for a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) which is time-limited to the length of the exchange period.
