About
As part of the DMU Global Cultural Horizons series, students will spend eight days in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, taking part in a programme designed around cultural learning, exploration and exposure to real‑world experiences. Through an immersive mix of activities, workshops and hands‑on experiences, students will build the confidence and skills needed to navigate different ways of life, unfamiliar perspectives and new cultural settings.
Described as a city of energy and discovery, Ho Chi Minh City is one of the most vibrant and dynamic destinations in South-East Asia. Its rich history, complex social and political landscape, fast‑growing economy and world‑famous food culture make it an ideal place for students to explore how culture shapes everyday life.
While in Vietnam, students will have opportunities to explore bustling neighbourhoods and local markets, sample traditional Vietnamese cuisine, engage with local communities and institutions, and reflect on their own assumptions and behaviours. From guided city walks to interactive workshops and cultural encounters, the programme encourages curiosity, openness and adaptability – helping students make sense of the world, broaden their cultural horizons and step confidently outside their comfort zones, all while experiencing an exciting and unforgettable global city!
What to expect?
Guided by members of the DMU Global team, students will take part in a varied programme combining workshops, hands‑on learning, peer interaction and structured reflection. Together, these activities are designed to help students better understand cultural differences, reflect on their own perspectives, and build confidence when engaging in unfamiliar international settings.
