About
Join us for an exciting international study visit to Paris, one of the world’s leading fashion capitals. This opportunity is designed for Fashion Buying, Marketing and Management students seeking to develop their understanding of global fashion markets, consumer behaviour, visual merchandising and retail strategy through first-hand industry observation and cultural exploration.
During the visit, students will undertake structured research activities across a range of luxury, premium and mass-market retail environments. Visits will include internationally recognised department stores such as Galeries Lafayette, Printemps and Le Bon Marché, alongside flagship fashion brands and independent concept stores. Students will analyse customer experience, store design, branding, product presentation and visual merchandising strategies, applying learning from their academic studies within a live commercial context.
Students will also engage with cultural heritage through visits to major museums and galleries including the Musée des Arts Decoratifs and the Louvre. These experiences will provide valuable insight into the creative, historical and cultural influences that continue to shape contemporary fashion and retail practice.
A key element of the trip will be student-led primary research. Through observation, photography, trend analysis, competitive shopping reports and reflective activities, students will gather evidence to support their academic and professional development. The trip will also include independent research time, allowing students to explore areas of personal interest and undertake self-directed research linked to their studies and future career aspirations.

Cultural activities
Cultural visits will include some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and museums, providing valuable context for understanding the historical and cultural influences that shape contemporary fashion and consumer culture.
Students will be encouraged to explore areas such as Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Tuileries district, where they can experience a mix of historic architecture, independent boutiques, galleries, cafés and creative spaces. These areas offer excellent opportunities for cultural observation, photography, sketching and trend research.
The itinerary also includes dedicated independent study and leisure time, allowing students to tailor their experience according to their interests and research. Students may choose to visit additional museums, explore Parisian neighbourhoods, engage with local culture, or undertake further retail and trend research. This flexibility enables students to broaden their cultural awareness, build confidence navigating an international city and develop a deeper appreciation of how culture, history and lifestyle influence fashion, design and consumer behaviour.
Visa information
Due to various external factors and an unprecedented demand for international travel, there are significant delays in visa processing, as well as very limited availability of application appointment slots for some countries and embassies.
We recommend that you take all appropriate steps to secure a visa as soon as practically possible, and to notify DMU Global if you face any issues. It is your responsibility to meet the entry requirements of the country you are travelling to.
