How to pay
Payment details: Students will be required to pay £275 as a contribution towards the cost of travel, accommodation and transfers (if included) after being offered a place on the trip. The DMU Global bursary will be deducted directly from the overall cost of the booking.
Carbon Levy
Student contribution: To offset the carbon emissions from the flight for this trip there is a £3 Carbon Levy for this trip which has been added to the total cost. Information about how this Levy will be used can be found here.
Eligibility
Levels 5 and 6 Business Management and International Business students, as well as Level 6 Business Administration students are eligible to participate on this opportunity. There is a maximum of 30 places available, with a minimum of 15 participants required for this opportunity to take place. Students are recommended to check the eligibility criteria before applying.
About
Trip description
Students will have the opportunity to visit Niels Brock Business College, DMU’s partner institution, and be exposed to the teaching and learning environment in Denmark. In addition to the higher education operation, the students will also visit two local businesses to develop an understanding of business operations, business performances and control mechanisms. This opportunity will give them a thorough understanding of business management in context.
This experience aims to improve graduate outcomes and boost student employability by exposing students to international business environments and practical applications of their studies. The visit will foster partnerships with purpose by collaborating with partner institutions and promoting learning for life through continuous reflection and application of knowledge. It will also empower students by encouraging them to lead sessions and projects that will build their confidence and capabilities. The visit will boost the experience of diversity, equality and inclusion. The experience will be equipped through the integration of ideas, people and organisations.
The estimated total cost for travel, accommodation and transfers for this trip to Copenhagen is £475. Students will be expected to pay the remaining amount after the £200 DMU Global bursary is deducted from the total.

Learning objectives
The primary purpose of the trip is to enhance academic performance by providing a deeper understanding of work culture and social phenomena, fostering the development of international networks, and equipping students with valuable professional skills.
Having international exposure is fundamental for learning about business performance in various contexts. This visit, scheduled during the Easter break, will provide students with a perfect blend of relaxation and reflection, allowing students to be fully immersed in the global activities. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios and reflect on their learning sessions. To maximise the benefits of this trip, several actions will be undertaken, such as a pre-visit orientation and planning discussion, sharing and finalising planned activities, and coordinating with a partner institute (Niels Brock) for local visits.
Students will also be encouraged to deliver sessions or projects at Niels Brock. Additionally, a post-visit session will be organised to gather feedback and comments. The Trip Lead will contribute by delivering guest lectures at the Niels Brock, further enriching the learning experience.
Cultural activities
Danish culture is renowned for fostering a collective and egalitarian society. This is often experienced in various ways, such as through food, travel, and communication. Students will not only learn about simplicity and humility but also gain an understanding of practices in work-life and business operations. The itinerary includes a free day to immerse in the local and national culture, which can be enjoyed either in a group or individually.
Activities could include visiting the Little Mermaid statue, vibrant Nyhavn area and Tivoli Gardens amusement park. Recommended cultural sites also include the Rosenborg Castle and Torvehallerne Food Hall where students can try the famous Smorrebrod.
