About
Trip description
When it comes to searching for a graduate job it is vital for students to have an understanding of the skills they possess and be able to evidence, demonstrate and articulate those skills within recruitment processes. This trip will enable the students to find their strengths and then be able to demonstrate those strengths through a variety of engaging tasks and activities hosted by careers professionals and employers.
Across the trip students will meet and be set challenges by two different large scale employers in Tanium and Enterprise Mobility. The day with Tanium will involve a company overview and meeting some key company contacts before student embark on a full city navigation challenge, working in teams students will have to be creative, organised and reactive to score points by visiting different Parisian attractions, collecting French items and taking on challenges along the way. The day with Enterprise Mobility will include some recruitment tips, a company talk and then another team task with students undertaking their Car Club Challenge which will see them launch the car club in a new city.
Wednesday evening will involve a group meal and will see alumni of DMU now living and working in Paris join to network and connect with the students. It will be a lot of fun, with plenty of opportunity for students to soak in and enjoy all that Paris has to offer on their own terms as well. Come the end students will leave having developed a range of core skills and will know how to talk about and articulate these in the future to showcase their true value.

Cultural activities
On the Tuesday, students will be set a challenge that will see them travel all around Paris and reach some famous and some hidden gem locations across the city – in doing so hopefully becoming familiar with where things are located and what they may wish to do with free time. The following day students will then be free to use that day to soak in whatever attractions and offers the city has that they would like to explore. There will be no specific cultural trips but culture will be a recurrent theme throughout with students free to shape elements of the trip around what they would like to see and do.
Students will also be given free time to explore the culture of Paris and could visit popular attractions, such as; the world famous Eiffel Tower and the residence of the former Kings of France, Le Palais de Versailles. Students could also visit the Basilica of Sacré Coeur de Montmartre, walk along the Champs-Élysées from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe, or choose to go to the Louvre Museum.
Visa information
Due to various external factors and an unprecedented demand for international travel, there are significant delays in visa processing, as well as very limited availability of application appointment slots for some countries and embassies.
We recommend that you take all appropriate steps to secure a visa as soon as practically possible, and to notify DMU Global if you face any issues. It is your responsibility to meet the entry requirements of the country you are travelling to. Failing to do so may mean that you’re liable for the costs incurred to the university (including repayment of the DMU Global bursary). Visit our visa information page to learn more.
