A Comparison of Radiography Programme and Clinical Practice in the UK and Malaysia

This opportunity is open for application to all undergraduates studying Diagnostic Radiography at DMU and Medical Imaging at MAHSA. There is a maximum of 15 places available for each university, with a minimum of 5 participants required for this opportunity to take place.

Through a number of virtual engagements with MAHSA University, Malaysia, participants will have the opportunity to exchange information and compare radiography and clinical practice between the UK and Malaysia. This will include general healthcare framework between both countries, comparisons regarding regulatory body requirements to practice in both countries, and radiography specific practice. Furthermore, through engagements with Malaysian students (who will be invited to virtually join DMU lectures and vice versa) there will be the opportunity to compare the radiography student experience and participate in cultural exchange and social activities. Lastly, there will be vitual visits to X-ray/Imaging suites of both universities.

Learning Objectives:

  • To encourage knowledge exchange particularly in diagnostic radiography practices between UK & Malaysia
  • To enhance cultural awareness and sensitivity amongst radiography students and staff
