Careers Talk – Merchandising in the Global Fashion Industry

About
Fashion and Textiles students are invited to join an online talk delivered by guest speaker Steve Brown. Steve is currently heading up International Markets Merchandising at Calvin Klein (Netherlands). In the past he has worked in merchandising and product development roles at Next, DKNY and Denham to name a few.
Steve will share his experience of working oversees and the process of getting a job abroad. He will tell participants what his role is about. In addition, Steve will share how things have changed since the Pandemic and how the future of fashion will change due to utilising data for better informed design and planning. At the end of the session he will give advice and tips to students that want to work abroad and answer any questions.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand the role of merchandising within the fashion industry
- To gain an insight into working abroad within the fashion industry
