How does it work?
The winning prize will be payment of the full balance of the cost of the DMU Global trip you have been accepted on. The prize will cover the remaining outstanding cost of travel and accommodation after the deduction of the DMU Global bursary. All other costs including food and drink, visas, cultural visits will be borne by the student and excluded from the prize.
The full balance of the cost of the trip is the amount advertised in ‘costs’ listed under Key Information on the opportunity advert on the DMU Global website.

Terms & Conditions
Introduction
By participating in the competition, you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. The competition is being run by the Global Mobility Office at De Montfort University.
Eligibility
The competition is open to current DMU Leicester students who are have been accepted to participate on an overseas DMU Global trip in the 2023-24 academic year, for trips taking place between 1 January 2024 and 28 April 2024.
By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you.
There is a limit of one entry per student, and students are eligible to win the prize once per year.
Entrants who win the prize are not eligible for DMU Global Widening Participation funding.
The prize
The winning prize will be payment of the full balance of the cost of the DMU Global trip you have been accepted on. The prize will cover the remaining outstanding cost of travel and accommodation after the deduction of the DMU Global bursary. All other costs including food and drink, visas, cultural visits will be borne by the student and excluded from the prize.
The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.
The Global Mobility Office’s decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
Winner announcement
The winner will be chosen at random and notified via their university email address provided on 21 November 2023.
The Global Mobility Office will make two attempts to contact the winner via their university email.
If the winner does not respond to the emails informing them of their win within 14 days of the second email, they forfeit their right to the prize, and the Global Mobility Office reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.
Prize awarding
The funding will be deducted from the cost of the DMU Global opportunity, and no payment will be made directly to the recipient. If any payments have already been made by the recipient to DMU Global, these will be repaid within 14 days of accepting the prize.
Data Protection and publicity
You agree that any personal information that you provide when entering the competition will be used by the Global Mobility Office for the purposes of administering the competition and for the other purposes as specified in our Privacy Policy.
All entrants may request information on the winning participants by emailing dmuglobal@dmu.ac.uk.
If requested by the Global Mobility Office, the winner agrees to release their first name, programme of study and DMU Global trip details to any other competition participants.
The winner’s first name, programme, and DMU Global trip details will be announced on the DMU Global website and social media channels.
The winner may be requested to provide a written or video case study related to their DMU Global trip to be published on the DMU Global website, and used for future marketing.
Limitation of liability
The Global Mobility Office accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in the competition or being selected for a prize.
General
The Global Mobility Office reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions.
