DMU Global’s Intercultural Competence Course provides you with the chance to gain international experience right here on campus! Designed to help you thrive in an interconnected, diverse, and rapidly changing world, the Intercultural Competence Course will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and values essential for global graduates.
By completing this course, you’ll discover how intercultural competence can enhance your employability – giving you the tools to communicate and collaborate successfully in diverse teams. The cultural awareness you gain will also support your ability to navigate multicultural environments, empowering you to become a truly global citizen.
The course includes a blend of on-campus and online workshops, with an optional overseas experience. We’re looking for a small, committed cohort of students who are ready to participate fully and actively in this transformative learning journey.

Course Structure
This FREE course consists of on campus and online workshops and sessions that will take place in January and February 2026, covering topics, such as:
- What is intercultural competence and why it matters?
- Cross culture communication
- Intercultural competence in the workplace
- Intercultural competence in society

At the end of the course there will be a reflection that will include assessing how the group has developed intercultural competence, exploring how these insights can be applied in the future, and creating a personal action plan to continue your intercultural learning journey. Furthermore, participants who engage with this course will be given priority when applying for Global Employability and Culture in Bangkok, Thailand.
Eligibility
All DMU students are eligible to apply for this opportunity. The maximum number of places is 30, and the minimum number of students required is 10 for the course to go ahead. Please check our eligibility criteria for further details.
