This DMU Global Online Learning opportunity is open to all DMU students and would be of particular interest to those currently studying Mandarin or interested in learning about the Chinese language and culture.

About
University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) was founded in 1952 and has developed into one of the most influential key national universities in China. Its main focus is on engineering, while maintaining a balanced program consisting of science, management, humanities, economics and law. University of Science and Technology Beijing has a 67 years history of international students teaching, which has a profound foundation, strong educational and teaching strength. In 1995, the International Students Chinese Language Center was established, which is committed to the basic education of Chinese language. It has built a complete teaching and research section of Chinese language, a high-quality and stable teaching team, and accumulated rich teaching experience.
USTB began to carry out online teaching since the spring semester of 2020. After nearly a year of online teaching practice, the online teaching mode has grown and this Autumn, USTB are launching a “Chinese Bridge” online Group Exchange Program, which will last two weeks and will be delivered to international students interested in Chinese all over the world in the form of online webcast.
During the two weeks learning, there will be 2-3 simple homework tasks to complete. This can be in the form of making a short video, drawing, writing Chinese characters and other online formats.

- Learning and experience of Chinese culture and norms
- Understanding of USTB and Chinese education
- Communication with students at USTB
- Chinese learning that will be recognised through a certificate of attendance
