Student experiences

We recognise the value and transformative nature of international experiences, but also understand there are various barriers to participation. Therefore, through DMU Global Online Learning we give students the opportunity to have virtual international international experiences.

There are many reasons why we think you should take part, but why not hear from some DMU students who have benefited from participating in virtual internships, global conferences and cultural awareness online courses…

Quotes

“I liked the fact that it was online […] It was an extraordinary experience to learn from and work in teams with students from other universities. The most enjoyable part for me was thinking outside of box and using my presentation skills.”

Haleema Riaz on her Global Citizenship Programme experience

“I enjoyed the structure of the course which combined mini-tasks and lectures. It was a really good way to deliver the desired outcomes, with essential preparation before workshops allowing me to reflect on specific topics during the live sessions.”

“Having speakers that were passionate about their topic was so important, it encouraged engagement and helped get the message across. The course increased my awareness, empathy and my understanding of the topics covered.”
