How to pay
Payment details: Students will be required to pay the 2-week or 4-week fees directly to Dongguk after being accepted by them for the summer school. The DMU Global & Turing funding will be transferred directly to students.

Eligibility
All DMU students are eligible to participate in this opportunity. To qualify for the additional funding for this opportunity students need to meet at least one of these ‘Widening Participation‘ criteria. The maximum number of places on this opportunity is 10. Students are recommended to check the eligibility criteria before applying.
Please note, if you have already participated on or been accepted for a DMU Global extra-curricular overseas trip between September 2025 and August 2026 you are not eligible to apply for this opportunity.
Students are recommended to apply for no more than 2 overseas opportunities. Further application submissions will not be considered.
About
DMU Global, in partnership with Dongguk University, offers students the opportunity to take part in a 2-week or 4-week International Summer School in Seoul, South Korea. Based in the heart of the city, just below N Seoul Tower, Dongguk University provides an immersive summer school experience in one of Asia’s most vibrant capitals. Students will be able to learn more about Korean Media, Culture, Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences, areas for which the university is internationally recognised.
The programme also features cultural activities, allowing students to gain first-hand insight into Korea’s rich historical and social context beyond the classroom.

Application & Fees
Following the deadline your application with DMU Global will be reviewed, you will be notified if you are successful and then you will need to submit an application directly to Dongguk University.
Students that participate on this summer school will stay with fellow students in university accommodation (single-sex, twin rooms with shared bathroom).
We have detailed the fees that you will need to pay below:

Tuition Fee: KRW1,200,000 / £605

Cultural Activities
As mentioned above there will be a range of cultural activities that students can participate in (an additional KRW200,000/£100 per summer programme). Along with your summer buddies you will have the opportunity to experience Korea’s unique culture by taking various day trips including: NANTA performance, baseball, K-Pop dancing, HanRiver cruise, Lotte World Tour, Taekwondo experience and more.

Students will receive funding as per the amounts below, check the criteria for widening participation students to understand the amount of funding you are eligible for.

Visa information
Due to various external factors and an unprecedented demand for international travel, there are significant delays in visa processing, as well as very limited availability of application appointment slots for some countries and embassies.
We recommend that you take all appropriate steps to secure a visa as soon as practically possible, and to notify DMU Global if you face any issues. It is your responsibility to meet the entry requirements of the country you are travelling to.
