  • Travel – Osnabrück is a well-connected city in north-west Germany. The nearest major airports include Frankfurt (FRA), Düsseldorf (DUS) Hanover (HAJ), and Amsterdam (AMS). From these airports or the Amsterdam Centraal train station, students can reach Osnabrück by train; the main station is Osnabrück Hauptbahnhof. Arnhem Business School (HAN) – Arnhem, Netherlands

The HAN University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. There are currently 14 HAN schools and eligible students have the opportunity to study on exchange at the Arnhem Business School during their time at DMU.


With more than 1,000 students from 30 different countries, Arnhem Business School (HAN) aims to enhance employability and internationalisation. Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) – Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) is the largest fashion institute in the Netherlands, with a team of 100 expert fashion lecturers who coach over 1250 students each year on all aspects of fashion. AMFI is part of the Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industry at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.


AMFI guides students to become changemakers who actively contribute to necessary changes in different disciplines in the fashion ecosystem by responsibly connecting industry and user needs at various levels. AMFI is the only fashion institute in the Netherlands that covers the entire fashion chain.


AMFI offers a future-oriented curriculum with three graduation specialisations: Fashion & BrandingFashion & Business and Development and Fashion & Design. AMFI distinguishes itself through an interdisciplinary approach, that is part of the curriculum. During the interdisciplinary study programs, students from the specialisations work together from a shared knowledge foundation to develop entrepreneurial skills.


With an educational focus on digitalisation, sustainability and inclusivity, AMFI is at the forefront of digital fashion design and sustainableinclusive fashion. Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) is a leading, internationally renowned Swiss university of applied sciences that attracts students from across the world. Charles University – Prague, Czech Republic

Founded in 1348, Charles University is one of the oldest universities in the world. Today it is the largest and most renowned in the Czech Republic and is known as a modern, dynamic, cosmopolitan and prestigious institution of higher education. Through its excellence in teaching in a range of subjects, as well as its expertise in research and wide international links, the university is consistently ranked amongst the best in Europe and the world.


Primarily located and based in the picturesque Old Town of Prague, the university is home to over 50,000 students across 17 faculties.

Comillas Pontifical University – Madrid, Spain

More than 100 years old, Comillas Pontifical University is a private Catholic University located in Madrid, Spain. It belongs to a network of more than 200 Jesuit universities in the world. The university combines a long history of experience in education, characterized by academic excellence and a humanistic tradition in teaching, with a constant desire for modernization, stimulated by constant social change.


Comillas is a well-known university in Spain, ranked among the best higher education institutions in the country for most of the programmes it offers. The university has a student population of approximately 15,000, including around 2,000 international students from 80 countries.


ICADE, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (where Law is taught) is situated in the central campus of Comillas and so has good transport links to the rest of the city. This allows students to study at the political, financial and cultural heart of the Spain.

ERAM University School – Girona, Spain

Located in the new cultural factory Coma Cros de Salt, ERAM University School is a school attached to the University of Girona.


ERAM more specifically was founded in 1998 by The Joan Bosch Private Foundation, a non-profit organization, with the aim of creating new professional profiles in the field of audiovisual communication and offering a response to new emerging professions. It currently imparts three official degrees, Audiovisuals and Multimedia, Performing Arts and Audiovisual Communication and Media, each with a unique curriculum.


In the city of the four rivers, history and the mixture of modernity and antiquity converge in the old quarter. From the picturesque houses on the Onyar river and crowned by the impressive cathedral with the widest gothic nave in the world, you will walk through its narrow streets and find hidden treasures, like the Jewish quarter (the Call, one of the most important in Europe), the Carolingian wall or the Arab baths, as well as the outstanding works of the Noucentista period and modern art.

Rennes School of Business – Rennes, France

Rennes School of Business is a research-based business school based in Brittany, France with approximately 4,000 students enrolled on courses at the institution. HFG Schwäbisch Gmünd – Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Hochschule Fuer Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd  is a university of design in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Schwä­bisch Gmünd is a relatively small city, but benefits from a really strong strong student commu­nity. The Finan­cial Times Germany attri­buted Schwä­bisch Gmünd as ​”Germany’s Secret Design Capital“ since there are nume­rous design agen­cies, adver­ti­sing and mul­ti­me­dia com­pa­nies, archi­tects and crea­tive service providers


Schwä­bisch Gmünd with its 60.000 inha­bi­tants is located close to Stutt­gart and is sur­roun­ded by forests, meadows, and farm­land. Street cafés, wine bars, markets, variety of shops, and rich and lively cul­tu­ral scene give the town its special flair.

DMU’s exchange agreement with HFG Schwä­bisch Gmünd allows students enrolled on the following programmes to study abroad:

  • Technology, Arts and Culture – Graphic Design, Interior Design and Product Design

Spending a year on exchange will expose you to new design approa­ches, themes, dif­fe­rent tea­ching, and lear­ning methods by following modules related to the Commu­ni­ca­tion Design, Inter­ac­tion Design and Product Design. You are allowed to mix courses taught in English from those three programs and the new program, Internet of Things. You don’t have to be able to speak any German, and throughout the year you can enrol on a free, weekly German language course.


Exchange students will be required to follow a full programme of study for the academic year.

  • Travel – the nearest major airport is Stuttgart Airport. It is recommended you take a train to Schwäbisch Gmünd which should take approximately 1.5 hours.
  • Accommodation – the University does not offer student accommodation. The inter­na­tio­nal coor­di­na­tor will send you flat offers two to three months before the start of your exchange, and your buddy will help you find a place to live. Whilst at Stockholm University we also encourage students to enrol on a supplementary Swedish language course, provided by the department of Swedish Language and Multilingualism. Beginners can study a 4.5 ECTS in term 1, and progress to higher levels in term 2 if interested.


Exchange students will be required to follow a full programme of study for the academic year based at Stockholm University.

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Milan, Italy


Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) is is an Italian private research university founded in 1921. Its main campus is located in Milan, Italy, the location where DMU students can spend a year studying on exchange. UCSC is highly ranked in QS World University Rankings by subject 2022, with 16 disciplines ranked in the top 300 in the world, or higher. The University prides itself on its academic reputation and campus diversity.


Cattolica puts students first! The professional academic staff believes in you and helps to connect your learning and desired career path. Their range of campus facilities and services ensures that every international student has access to all of the support, information and mentoring. Services at UCSC include a dedicated international student centre, a housing service, health centre, sports facilities and international student associations.

Western Norway University of Applied Sciences – Bergen, Norway

Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) is one of the largest educational institutions in Norway, with about 17,000 students. HVL stretches over 5 campuses and 400 kilometers on the western coast of Norway, but specifically DMU students can spend a year on exchange at the Bergen campus.

A unique feature of the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), is that they have made sustainability one of their three strategic priorities. The special UN SDG focused study programme for exchange students is ‘The Norwegian West Coast Educational Initiative on SDGs’ is a cooperation between the Department of Social Science, the Department of Maritime Studies and the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Business Administration and Social Sciences.

HVL offers a specific programme of study for all exchange students called: Sustainable Economics, Management and Innovations. The Faculty of Business Administration and Social Sciences is offering modules linked to ethics and sustainable development relevant to the delivery of the UN’s SDGs. DMU students are required to choose all of the following modules at the Bergin campus (subject to change but currently for 2023-24 academic year):

  • Travel – the nearest major airport is Bergen Airport, Flesland. A direct tram link connects the airport and city and takes around 40 minutes in total and costs around £3.50 one-way.

VIA University College – Denmark

VIA University College is one of Denmark’s largest institutions of higher education based in central Denmark with a total of eight different campuses located in locations such as Aarhus, Horsens and Hostelbro. The institution has approximately 20,000 students and 2,000 staff.


VIA offers a wide range of vocational bachelor courses and more traditional subjects including Education, Engineering, Design, Business and Film. The Danish approach to education at VIA incorporates hands on experience, project based learning and encouraging a culture of open exchange between student and lecturers.

University of Oulu – Oulu, Finland

The University of Oulu is one of the largest universities in Finland and was founded in 1958. The university has around 13,000 students and 2,900 staff. The university is often ranked as one of the best universities in Finland and in the top-400 worldwide

University of A Coruña – Galicia, Spain

Founded in 1989, the University of A Coruña has undergone significant development through its lifespan, now being considered a modern, innovative, and dynamic university based between the two costal cities of A Coruña and Ferrol. Through programmes covering areas in culture, cooperation, equality, language and technology the University of A Coruña has a diverse range of opportunities for students. UDC creates an environment in which internationalisation fosters and takes centre stage. With over 500 exchange students and academics completing a mobility at UDC every year, students expecting to study here will not feel out of place. The university is actively introducing new programs taught in English, so students can be confident there will be ample opportunities to choose from and participate in.

  • Travel – The nearest major airport to UDC is A Coruña Airport (LCG) located just 8 minutes’ drive from the university centre. Santiago–Rosalía de Castro Airport, located in Santiago de Compostela is an alternative international airport, connected to A Coruña with bus and taxi links.
  • Accommodation – The Coruña campus does not have its own dorms and thus private accommodation is required. The university recommends either the “Siglo XXI” Residence hall or Rialta Residence. University of Alicante – Alicante, Spain

The University of Alicante is a public university located in Alicante, Spain that was established in 1979. There are approximately 33,000 students enrolled at the University, 2,000 of which are international and exchange students. Students can choose from around 200 courses that are fully taught in English.


University of Alicante is one of Spain’s most modern and innovative universities based in a beautiful campus by the Mediterranean. The campus is ranked among the best in Europe: an area of about one million square metres, sustainable and less than 15 minutes to the city centre and the beaches.

The University of Antwerp (UAntwerp) welcomes over 500 students on Erasmus or other exchange programmes every year, from partner institutions all over the world.  UAntwerp is a young and dynamic university that scores well in Young University Rankings, and have a focus on research, internationalisation and entrepreneurship within a context of student freedom and social responsibility.


The university has a strong community of international students (172 nationalities), and is based in the city of Antwerp which is a vibrant, cultural and charming city in the heart of Europe.

The University of Cyprus (UCY) is the first University to be established in Cyprus and is located in the capital, Nicosia. There are approximately 7,000 students enrolled on courses at the university, studying a range of different degree programmes across eight faculties. UCY aims to establish itself as a pioneer research institution achieving international scientific recognition in European Higher Education, offering competitive programmes of study, as well as becoming a centre of excellence in the wider Euro-Mediterranean Region.

University of Deusto – Bilbao, Spain

The University of Deusto is a Spanish private university with campuses in Bilbao and San Sebastián. The University of Deusto is the oldest private university in Spain, with its establishment dating back to 1886. The main campus is situated in Bilbao, a metropolitan area with more than one million inhabitants which is the business and cultural hub of northern Spain, and the heart of the Basque country.

University of Lucerne – Lucerne, Switzerland

The University of Lucerne is the youngest university in Switzerland. Its roots stretch back as far as 1600, but it has only existed as a modern university since 2000. In the decades since it was founded, the number of students has grown from approximately 250 to around 3500 today.


The University of Lucerne is located in the very centre of Lucerne right next to the railway station and a stone’s throw from Lake Lucerne. Its central location, short links and the fact that the entire university can be found under one roof is perfect for both studies and university life.

University of Padova – Padova, Italy

University of Padova is an Italian public research university in Padua, Italy. Located less than an hour from Venice, It was founded in 1222 by a group of students and teachers from the University of Bologna, thus, it is the second-oldest university in Italy, as well as the world’s fifth-oldest surviving university.

The university is made up of 32 departments and eight schools. Padova is part a network of historical research universities known as the Coimbra Group. The university has approximately 72,000 students including undergraduates, postgraduates, and doctoral students.


Internationalisation has always been an important priority for the University of Padova. With over 300 exchange agreements, the University has established long-standing relationships with Higher Education Institutions all over the world, not only in Europe but also in Africa, North and South America, Asia and the Middle East, aimed at encouraging international exchanges of teaching and administrative staff as well as students at all degree levels.
