DMU Global Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQs

The health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is our highest priority. With the spread of the Coronavirus globally, the risks posed to health, and associated travel restrictions, DMU is not currently organising overseas DMU Global trips.

Whilst these are extremely challenging times, our team have been working hard with DMU staff and our partners, so that we can offer you a range of exciting international experiences on-campus and online whilst overseas travel is paused. Below we have included some FAQs which we hope can provide some clarity. You can also find regularly updated guidance about COVID-19 on the DMU website.

If overseas travel isn’t possible, what other opportunities will DMU Global be offering?

We are offering a range of meaningful international experiences on-campus that do not require overseas travel. For Term 1, student applications open from Monday 20 September 2021 and are listed here. These include the chance to learn one of 5 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Arabic or Mandarin with DMU’s Confucius Institute. There is also the chance for students to complete a formal TEFL qualification or take part in our Intercultural Awareness Certificate.

Alternatively, we will also be offering a range of DMU Global Online Learning opportunities that are listed here and will be offered in both term 1 and term 2. These will include webinars, skills courses, virtual internships and peer-to-peer learning experiences. 

When will overseas DMU Global overseas trips return?

Subject to approval by the University and providing travel is permitted, we hope to begin delivering overseas opportunities from January 2022 onwards. Further details will be shared with students once dates are confirmed.
